Short Description

The method concerns collecting literary works related to the topic of bread, made by several writers and individuals from Danubian countries. The elaboration of the final material – a book containing the works, would be done at two levels: a national and an international, intercultural level.

Full Description

By the publication of a material which includes the views and works of the civil society related to the topic of bread, we would foster the enlargement of their perspectives; as they would actively participate in an international initiative. They would consider themselves a valuable part of the European society. The method consists of collecting their works, which would be as well translated, for a better understanding of their interpretation of certain matters, and promoting the final literary material at an international level. This method helped fostering cultural transfer in the Danubian countries.
The aim of the method is the involvement of members of the civil society in a larger initiative, fostering the promotion of the cultural heritage and the awareness of various traditions related to the topic of bread. The method would be applied on an international level, thus the participants would be in a position of further disseminating the works and the cultural information in various places; as further analyse on the topic of bread would take place. Elaboration of creative and literary materials makes the people aware of the cultural diversity and unity in Danube Region and Europe.

Step-by-step explanation

Step 1

First Danube-Networkers call –  Writers` League Timisoara

Due to its international covering, the method would work by calls, which would be transmitted to associations and institutions from the participating countries, which would announce individuals and writers about the initiative. They would be guided to write creative materials of several kinds, such as poems, personal memories and short stories.

Step 2

Second Danube-Networkers call –  Writers` League Timisoara

A second call would take place, as for the awareness of the creation of an International Anthology which would include the earlier done works.

Step 3

Collection of texts –  Writers` League Timisoara

After collecting the literary works, the ones only in native language would be translated into English- to assure a better understanding at an international level. The translated and completed works would be integrated in the Anthology. The final details and preparation for the official launching would be done at this step.

Step 4

Launching of the International Anthology

The most significant part of the application of this method would be the launching of the Anthology. The final output of this method would be launched in an international framework- at an International Conference which would take place in a participating country. At the launching, several individuals, as well as a number of authors would get the chance to further discuss on their works and form connections. The book was launched at International Conference “Taste of Danube. Let`s taste it”, organized by Institute Ileu, in Ulm, in July 2016.

Step 5

Promotion of the International Anthology

The last step is not having an exact time-frame, as it is able to be done for a longer period of time. It would consist of the promotion of the International Anthology at local and national levels, in the participating countries. The dissemination activities would take place at international meetings, symposiums and conferences.

Results

The final material output of the method would be an International Anthology consisting of the works of members of the civil society, the works being related to the topic of bread. The works in the Anthology would be centred on the personal experiences of the authors, as we would aim the promotion of a sense of community at a European level.

Variation of the approach

The texts of the Anthology could be made on any topic and in any language, on both a local and international level.

People from different target groups could be involved in collecting the texts which the Anthology would consist of.
